Physical Care, emotional love, education, protection from neglect, abuse & exploitation, health are basic rights of children. Every children should be having a normal life but they are not. And that is what Roshni Nilaya is trying to achieve.
Established in 2017, ROSHNI NILAYA (RN) is a non-profit voluntary organisation. It works for the welfare and empowerment of underprivileged children and women by enriching their lives and giving them access to education, health and livelihood skills.
There are 472 million children in India under the age of 18 years. This constitutes 39% of the total population in the country
1 in 4 children of school-going age is out of school in our country – 99 million children in total have dropped out of school
There are 10.13 million child labourers between 5-14 years in India
19.8 million children below age 6 in India are undernourished
42% of married women in India were married as children
Our Institutional & Family Based Care directly benefit orphaned, abandoned & destitute children, street children, abused children, working children, children in families ‘at-risk’ and children from disadvantaged communities.At present, we run Children Home in partnership with Bethany Fellowship Ministries in the district of Erode, Tamilnadu.
We believe that family is irreplaceable and the Institution can’t be permanent place for Children so RN explores every avenue to reunite children with a parent or relative, if possible, and puts programs in place to facilitate adoptions.
Shelter, Nutritious meals, Access to formal school education, Health Care, Counseling Support, Recreational and cultural activities, Yearly excursions, Birthdays, festivals and other events are celebrated, Life skill training, Integration in family.
Samaya is rescued from begging in the bus stand. His father is handicapped and mother left the family. He is five years old and he stays with his elder brother, Madesh in our home and studying in UKG at ISHA Vidya Marticulation School.
Pooungodai lost both parents, due to sickness mother passed away and a year later her father met with an accident and passed away. She is studying in 9th std and She wants to become a lawyer.
Nirthika is rescued from refugee camp, she is an orphan, both her parents passed away. She is twelve years old and she stays with her younger brother, Mistish Kumar in our home and studying in 8th standard.
Roshni Nilaya runs After Care Program for children/youth without family who leave Children’s Home after they attain 18 years of age. We are devoted to make them self reliant by providing college/technical education, shelter, food and stipend. Our parental care and support is extended until they get employment. At present, we help 5 girls and 2 boys through After Care.
Nathiya who lost her father when she was five months old and mother who lives in poverty left her in children’s home for last 12 years and now she is pursuing BBA at Navarasam College in Erode.
Kalaivani who lost her father in an accident and mother left 10 years back never seen her until now. She is pursuing BBA at Navarasam College, Erode.
Balakrishnan both parents died by suicide because of debts and now he is doing Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering in Govt. Polytechnic College, Perunduarai.
